Jeep, Laundry, Dinner with my Son, and Animal Decisions…

Today is Jeep Maintenance Day for me. I went to O’Reilly’s last night and picked up a caliper for the driver’s side, rotors, and brake pads. It shouldn’t take too long to get done so I’ll have time afterward to go do laundry and head to the Y for a shower before heading up to Burien to pick up my son for dinner. YAY!!!

I’m actually sort of looking forward to doing the work on my Jeep. I have refused to drive it on the freeway since I found out about the caliper on the driver’s side being done, which means any freeway driving has been done in the van, which causes me a severe level of anxiety, so Lance drives. That’s another story though. I hate not feeling like I can drive my Jeep anywhere I want to go.

I’m definitely not looking forward to going to the laundromat. I’m not fond of doing laundry, just the end result of doing so. Since I have nothing left to wear and the day off, laundry is a must. I really miss having a washer and dryer, among other things.

We are picking up my son tonight to take him out for a late birthday dinner. It’s really odd not having him here and I miss him so much. Its going to be great to see him. He wants to go to this place down the street from his Gram’s place, where he is living now, that serves teriyaki. Sounds good to me.

I’m going to take him to the grocery store afterward because he wants to put some groceries in the fridge as a way to sort of pay for staying with his Gram. I think that is a wonderful idea, and responsible. He seems to be doing so well there and I am so happy for him.

Our cat, Gemini, has something going on with her eyes that concern’s me a bit. The other day while I was visiting with her, her right pupil was dilated but not her left. Last night, her left eye was dilated but not her right. I took a flashlight  and shined it next to her left eye, and it only moderately reduced the pupil. I cupped my hand around her right eye to see if it would cause the pupil to dilated due to less light but it did nothing.

I looked online to see what I could find about her symptoms and the closest I got was Horner’s Syndrome, though she is not displaying all of the symptoms related to the syndrome. I’m gong to need to take her to the vet to find out what is actually going on with the poor cat. I think whatever it is may be a sign that her leukemia is progressing. I guess I’ll find out. The two things may have absolutely nothing to do with each other. She will be 9 on May 20th.

I am going to spend as much time as possible with my Tru-dog this month. His hips have gotten pretty bad so, over the past year, I have come to terms with and decided that it is time for him to move on. I plan on taking the week after my birthday off so I can grieve my puppy.

He really is the best dog on earth and I can not stand to see him hurting. I’ve allowed him to go through the last year with his hips bothering him to see just how bad it actually is, if it was still manageable, but it has become obvious that it is not. I’m going to miss my dog so much.

Well, it’s a quarter to nine and the Jeep isn’t going to fix itself. I hope everyone has a great day and that the sun is out to warm their skin.
