Focusing on the Positive, A-Z; Day 17: Quiet

quietI relish quiet. It is when it is quiet that I find it easiest to connect to myself, to sort out the clutter, to find the solutions to whatever needs solving, to check in with myself and make sure I’m doing ok. Does that sound weird? In the middle of the muck of day to day life, I am not always aware of when there is something that is bugging me. I think this is part of why I love my coffee time in the morning. Yes, its usually spent blogging, but that is quiet time, too, and allows my mind the time to just get re-organized to face the day. This is also when I get to do mental self-checks to see where I’m at. Am I optimistic? Overwhelmed? Frustrated? Happy with life? Feeling vulnerable? By being able to have this morning ritual, I am better able to execute my day because I know where I am starting from and can plan accordingly. Quiet time gives me the opportunity to see if I am needing to be gentle with myself that day or can run at the day like a lion. Thankfully, the work I do provides me that ability to adjust the sails as needed. My quiet time is sacred.
