About

Welcome to my blog! Thanks for coming. I hope that you find/get something from it that changes the way you looked at the world before. This is my “tale,” though not complete by any means. You will meet my husband Lance, my kids (which I have not decided whether or not to include their names here), the animals I share my life with, and various people that come along the path (good friends, not so good friends, those that have made an impact on me in one form or another, etc.) Actual names will be used, with permissions, and when the names are made up, I may state as much, but maybe not. Honestly, it will probably depend on my mood and how much and what kind of impact the person has had on me. If there is ever anything on this blog that bothers you, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or send me an email (dragonflygypsyusa@gmail.com). I’m not always quick about my responses but I do promise to respond long before you have forgotten you even sent anything.

So, that’s it. I thank you, again, for checking out my blog and hope you decide to follow along. πŸ™‚

I don’t know if you do/like such things, but since I was nominated to one, I wanted to keep it going and share with even more people really good hidden gems. I really enjoy reading your blog, and hope you keep the chain going.

Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike πŸ™‚
Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.
My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my β€˜point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.
My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.
Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

Hi there! I’m enjoying what I’ve seen so far on this blog. I’m still quite new to blogging myself but what I’m looking for are genuine people…might be difficult over the internet, I know, but I choose to believe there are lots of us out there. Being true to yourself is really all that matters – seriously, if somebody is offended by something you write on your own blog, they really don’t need to be reading it! There will always be those people who find enjoyment by making other people feel bad so don’t let it get to you if/when that sort of person makes their way to your blog. You are you, no apologies! I gather this isn’t a paying job for you, so feeling guilty for days when you’re not up to or available for posting is self-destructive. By your intro, this is an outlet, a log, a journal, not another chore. Share what you wish and nothing of what you don’t. Enjoy!

I can totally relate to “nice clothes will just get destroyed” here, but I still haven’t been able to make myself get rid my old office clothes. They just hang there in the closet, have been for the better part of four years now, unworn, lonely, ignored. The last time my mom came for a visit, I warned her not to bring anything white because of “a good chance it won’t be white for long here”. Her hesitant/unsure reaction to that suggestion was funny.

By the way, love the dogs. They are adorable, as is the orange cutie. Also great screen name! Dragonflies are fantastic creatures! I look forward to your future posts.

    • Well hello there kind soul! Thank you for your kind words of wisdom. Feeling guilty for not blogging is self destructive? I hadn’t thought of it that way but I suppose you are right about that. Thank you!
I remember having nice office type clothes hanging in the closet for years, even ones I knew I would probably never fit into again…Sigh…its hard letting go of some things sometimes.
Wear white?! Only if you are trying an alternative way of tie dying your clothes…lol. Four dogs and RV life most definitely do not allow for white, or anything light colored. Oh well…more flowers of various colors fixes that, at least during spring and summer.
Genuine people…yes, it seems that is a rare animal there, though I have truly been blessed by having what sometimes feels like more than my fair share of them show up in my life at exactly the right time. I’ve also had quite a few of the other type show up as well. Garlic, salt, warding spells…nothing seems to keep them out forever. I guess they just help to round out my life story, even if it can be a huge challenge, disappointment, heartbreak while they are around.
“You are you, no apologies” Oh how long it took me to get that one and I feel I am begining to really have it..mostly. As with all, there are good days and there are challenging days.
Yes, this blog is an outlet for me. I can talk myself through things, occasionally get feedback, and, overall, that act of writing is magic in itself.
Again, thank you for the gift of your visit to my blog, and for following me. I hope to have some time soon so I may return the gift to you.
      Blessed be
