Well, my bees are almost done. I think they are turning out really nicely. All that is left is to paint the details on the wings for the bee with the wings that are more like butterfly wings. The only problem I am having with that is I can’t seem to decide on what color to use. Any suggestions, anyone?
I sprayed the feet of the bees with black Flex Seal. Since the feet will be in the dirt, this just seemed like a great idea. I think I am going to have to find a way to hang the bees upside down, though, and re-spray them. I had laid them down on masking paper and, unfortunately, they stuck to it, which caused the Flex Seal and paint to peel off when I separated the feet from the paper, exposing the metal below. Bummer. Oh well. I figure it out.
The bees each hold a little metal pot for a plant. I would love to re-use them, but one of them has rusted to the point of creating a hole right under the top band. Disappointing but I’m pretty sure I can find a replacement for it. I may go ahead a paint the other pot, which had some rust on it but not as severely, but I think I’ll wait until I find the replacement pot in case I just want to swap them both out. I’m really enjoying my little bee project, if you hadn’t noticed. 🙂
My next project is going to be a fire ‘pit’ I found on the side
of the road at the end of last summer. It’s pretty rusty, a bit bent up, needs a few screws, but I am sure that I can revive it. I’ll need to pick up some high heat paint. Home Depot sells it, in store, in black. The site says there is also it in silver and white, in store, but I’ve never seen it there. Perhaps that is because I wasn’t looking for it. I’ll have to look, again, though I’d really like it in green, which the Home Depot site sells, but I would have to by a case of 6 cans of it. I don’t see me ever needing that much so I don’t think that makes sense. Maybe I’ll just go with the silver. Obviously, I haven’t made up my mind on that one. I’m excited to see how it turns out!!
Brad Paisley is coming to the Tacoma Dome tonight. I have spent all week thinking that the concert was tomorrow night. So glad I double checked that today. I would have been super bummed if I had missed this money earning opportunity.
I am now certified to drive for Uber and Lyft in King County, Pierce County, Thurston County, and Kitsap County. That’s a nice chunk of the main Uber areas on the western side of the state. I’m super excited about this. With Spring only 35 days away, Spring and Summer festivals and such are super close and being certified for these 4 counties really opens up the market for me. Its going to be a super busy summer this year. I’m going to have to make sure that I remember (aka make myself) to take time for gardening and creativity, and not always put money-making first. Balance…not something I’m always good at.
Well, I’m off to go do something fun before taking a nap this afternoon so I’m ready for the concert. Tomorrow will probably be a bit busy, as well, with Valentine’s Day events going on. Enjoy your weekend, Everyone, and Happy Valentine’s Day from me!
