Well, including today, its only 5 more days until Christmas. Are you ready? I actually have everything ready, which is unusual for me. Christmas Eve is almost always spent wrapping everyone’s presents, but I already have that done. As for my tree, I have thought to ‘finish’ decorating it, but everytime I do, I just don’t see anywhere that really needs an ornament on it. I guess I’m going for the minimalist type decorating.
I’ve been wanting to get a backdrop for behind the tree, so I can block out the lovely chainlink fence behind it, but I really haven’t put any effort into making that happen. Apparently, I am not that worried about it, though my husband keeps asking me not to post a photo of the tree until we have placed a backdrop and some sort of tree skirt under it. Our reality is being a bit too real for him this year, I guess, and he is feeling the need not to advertise it. Although I don’t necessarily disagree with him, I think I’m at the point where I just don’t care as much about it as he is. Our life is what it is, and we are making the best of what that is, to the best of our ability. I’m past feeling concern about the opinions of others on the topic. That said, here is my little tree:
Christmas Tree 2015
We have been doing some work up north over the past week. Although I love the work we are doing, installing laminate flooring, I have to admit that I wish there were an easier way to get home at the end of the work day. We have been getting home around 8pm, which is a bit late in my mind, especially since I am almost always in bed and quickly falling asleep by 10. It doesn’t leave much time to reconnect with home, something I have found helps me keep my head space a bit more on the healthy side.
We didn’t go up yesterday to finish the laminate flooring because I had a clean scheduled. Unfortunately, the manager at the apartment complex forgot to put the key in the lockbox. We are headed out to do that clean today after Lance gets back from taking the dogs for their morning walk. Its raining, again, this morning, so they are going to be pretty wet by the time they get home.
