It’s a beautiful day out. The sun is shining, the temp is forecasted to reach 86 degrees, and it’s already 63 degrees. To top this glorious morning off, its my birthday. I couldn’t ask for a better weather forecast.
My borage is doing just great in front of the stump!! I think the plants my end up being a bit stunted due to the acid level of the soil, but I think I’m ok with that. The borage is starting to get flower buds on them and I can hardly wait to see them bloom. I do hope they get a bit taller because I absolutely love their lazy, mishap stature but if the height they are is all I get, along with the blooms, I’ll be happy.
I finally picked up a few 5-gallon buckets the other day. Yesterday, after Lance drilled some holes in the bottom of the buckets for drainage, I filled them with organic garden soil and organic raised bed soil and transplanted some sunflowers, dill, and lemon balm from their starter pots. I am placing them around the perimeter of fence that outlines the yard for the dogs. I think they will be absolutely beautiful when they reach their full height.
I wanted all of the buckets to be the green in the picture, but when I went to buy them, Home Depot only had one green one. Oh well. At least I have the buckets to plant in. I still have two more buckets to fill and I may need to get a few more to finish getting everything out of there starter pots. I do so love gardening.
A couple more of my sunflowers are developing buds on them. I am hoping this doesn’t mean they are not going to reach their full height. I love towering sunflowers. It will be quite interesting, I believe, if the sunflowers don’t reach their full tallness, especially if the blooms are their full size. 🙂
Well, I’m off to go do whatever I am going to do today. I have a clean to go finish up on that Lance is going to help me with. I think I am going to go finish off the two 5-gallon buckets I have left before Lance gets back from the walk. I hope everyone has a beautiful, happy, full of fun day!!!
